Message in a Bottle

Pontefract Lionesses and Castleford Lions have joined forces to supply the Lions Life Line ‘Free of Charge’ in their home towns and the surrounding areas.

Message in a Bottle is a simple idea that is aimed at anyone who lives at home and would be re-assured to know that essential information is readily available to the Emergency Services by keeping their basic personal and medical details in a common place where they can easily be found should they suffer an accident or illness.

The information is kept in a plastic bottle in your fridge where the Emergency Services will expect to find it in the event of being called to your home.  They will know you have a bottle by the green labels which you fix to the outside of your fridge door and the inside of your external doors.

The bottles will be available from 24th September 2004 in Health Centres, Doctors Surgeries. Chemists and the Pontefract and Castleford Express Officers throughout the area or alternatively you can contact us direct:

Lion George and Lioness Jeanne Morgan

Tel:  01977 704591

e-mail:  jeannette@jinty71.fsnet.co.uk

Message in a bottle is supported by all the local Emergency Services, plus the Eastern Wakefield Primary Care Trust, St John’s Ambulance Brigade, Age Concern and the Pontefract and Castleford Express.

This is seen as an additional ‘life line’ and is not intended to replace other alert products you may wear such as Medic Alert/S.O.S. Talisman.  The Lions and Lionesses can supply details of Medic Alert Products that will assist the Emergency Services whilst you away from home.
