DURSLEY LIONESS CLUB
Our Club was founded 16 years ago and we have 16 members. We meet on the first Wednesday of every month at the “Lions’ Den”, Dursley at 8pm. We also have an informal interim meeting once a month.
We devote a lot of time raising money for local and global communities and this brings with it fun and friendship.
Our fund-raising activities have included plant sales, frozen food tastings, cake stalls, annual Christmas hamper raffles and a “cowpat competition” to name but a few.
Our Club has supported many different charities over the years and more recently some of the beneficiaries have been the Cotswold Care Hospice, Teenage Cancer Trust, Bristol Children’s Hospital, Crossroads, ORBIS, and Send a Cow.
Our social activities include safari suppers, annual charter and handover parties and skittle evenings. Occasionally the Dursley Lions join us.
We regularly help other organisations who rely on volunteers to operate.
We have a high profile in the community as the local Gazette regularly prints photos and articles of our activities.
