Following a successful Cow Pat Competition, Paddock Wood Lioness Club presented a cheque for £1,000 to Kent Air Ambulance. We sold 1200 "plots" and the person who chose the winning plot won £200. Needless to say this local man was delighted. We had a brief talk by the pilot of the Air Ambulance who showed us the helicopter and some of the equipment on board. They were very grateful for our donation. While we were there we asked if they had any "Joy Boys" left. Apparently they only had a few, so it has been arranged that we will donate a further 60 to them. As well as giving the cuddly lions to traumatised children, they give them to disabled children who visit the site for a tour.
Pontefract Lioness Club celebrated Yorkshire Day by holding a collection at Junction 32 Retail Park and giving out White Roses to the public. The collection raised a total of £263.56 which will be donated to the Princess Royal Trust for Carers and other local charities.

Folkingham Village Hall was the venue for an evening devoted to the tastes and aromas of India. An audience of about 40 people watched Lioness Meena Cuthbert prepare and cook a range of delicious dishes from her home country, which included Coriander Chicken and Spicy Potatoes. Meena explained the importance of choosing the right spices, and she demonstrated a fool-proof way of cooking rice to perfection. Afterwards, the audience enjoyed sampling the food, and Laura Creedon was the lucky raffle winner of all the dishes which Meena had prepared.
